Sleeping in Savasana

My yoga journey

Rest and Recovery

on November 6, 2015

Back in August I hurt my elbow and took a frustrating few weeks of light practice and rest. I got better and has been fine even though I’ve done some fairly intensive training. However over the past two weeks it’s majorly flared up and starting being quite painful when I’m putting weight through it. So on Wednesday afternoon I went to see the physio to see what was wrong.

I’ve got what is known as Golfer’s Elbow which affects the inside of the elbow. I’ve got to take it easy for three weeks and I have some exercises to do two or three times a day. Hopefully rest and strengthening the joint will work and in a month I’ll be able to be back to normal activity. Still three weeks of no handstands, only one proper yoga class a week and as few poses that I put weight through the elbow other than during that one class as possible, is going to be hard. Still it’s better than being in pain and causing long term damage.
