Sleeping in Savasana

Meditation Practice

I may have not been doing much asana practice over the past month but I have been doing a lot of meditation. I’m not quite up to a daily practice but I’m doing at least five sessions a week. 

The silence during yin yoga is a great opportunity for meditation. I can’t properly relax in savasana so instead I’ve been taking that five minutes to meditate until the timer runs out. It’s a good way to end class on a relaxed note. 

I’m also trying to mediate before bed at least three times a week. It helps me wind down and I do find that 10 minutes is more that enough to get me ready for a good nights sleep. 

It’s taken me a while to build up to a regular meditation practice but it’s really helped with my stress levels.

    It’s so hard to keep up a meditation practice! I’m so glad you’ve found ways to weave it into your day! I usually try to meditate in the morning, but you’re inspiring me to try to do it at night before bed a few days of the week. Best of luck, dear!
