Aromatherapy in Yoga

Following on from using more aromatherapy oils in my personal life it’s not that much of a surprise that I’ve started exploring them for use in yoga classes. I’ve used a lavender and camomile room spray since I started teaching but it sends to have faded by the end of class and it’s a bit distracting to spray it during savasana. 

I got a diffuser for the studio a few weeks ago and it’s been quite nice to explore different options and see what smells really great. I’ve used a few obvious oils like lavender, camomile and a ‘sleepy time’ blend. They’ve all worked really well and it’s definitely brought a nice atmosphere to the space. 

Last week I also experimented with cleaning the floor with lemon oil rather than chemicals. It certainly made it smell gorgeous and it seemed to be cleaner than it was before.

I’ve got another couple of blends that I’ve ordered that are due to arrive in the next week. I popped into a wizardops, lovely local shop that I didn’t know had opened and bought a ‘Cheerful’ blend with bergamot, geranium and ylang ylang oils. I can’t wait to try it in the diffuser. The lady in the shop was super helpful and I’ll certainly be back for more oils from her.
