Mindfulness Course

In November I decided to look further into mindfulness. I was already undertaking a regular meditation practice and I knew bits about mindfulness but wanted to learn more. 

One of the voucher websites had an offer on a course so I decided to book and try it. It wasn’t the greatest course, they sent you the materials and pretty much left you to get on with it. There was a series of questions that you had to answer and send back to show that you’d read the material and tried the techniques. 

One of the suggestions in the course that I’ve taken on board was starting small and working it into your everyday. I’ve done so via the very British medium of tea. Once a day I drink a cup of tea, ideally made from tea leaves and from a stove top kettle. I sit down either at the kitchen table or on the sofa and drink it. I don’t read, watch tv, look at my phone, plan lessons or 100 other things that I usually do while drinking it. It only takes 5-10 minutes out my day but it’s nice. 


I’m attempting to be more mindful in my eating and not snacking as much but that’s a bigger challenge and one that I’ve a few underlying issues to deal with first.
